I would rather Invest in agriculture than pay N5,000 to unemployed youths - President Muhammadu Buhari

President Buhari has said that he will not pay N5,000 to unemployed youths as promised by his party during campaign, adding that he has a different priority.

Speaking in Saudi Arabia over the weekend, the president said he would rather invest into the building of infrastructure, education, agriculture to create employment for unemployed Nigerian youths instead of giving money to those who doesn't work.

He said:

This largess of N5,000 for unemployed, i have got a slightly different priority. I would rather do the infrastructure for the school that request them and empower agriculture and mining so that every able bodied person can go and get work instead of giving N5,000 to those who doesn't work.
The promise to pay N5,000 to unemployed youths in Nigeria was the major plank of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) during its campaign last year.
